ACLS Rhythms and Treatments

Description and Target Audience: This seminar is designed to prepare health care professionals to correctly identify life threatening dysrhythmias and to discuss ACLS algorithms as they relate to care of patients with life threatening dysrhythmias. This course will benefit healthcare professionals who either direct or participate in resuscitation of a patient, whether in or out of the hospital, usually RN/LPN and RT. This course would benefit participants prior to attending the American Heart Association program ACLS.

Objectives

At the end of this course, participants should be able to:

• Identify life threatening dysrhythmias.
• Choose appropriate medications for the patient’s condition and rhythm.
• Discuss the management of VF/Pulseless Arrest Algorithm.
• Discuss the management of Bradycardia according to the ACLS Bradycardia Algorithm.
• Discuss the management of Asystole/PEA according to the ACLS Pulseless Arrest Algorithm.
• Discuss the management of the stable/unstable tachycardia according to the ACLS Tachycardia Algorithm.
• Describe the team leader role in mega code utilizing the skills testing checklist.

Location: CoxHealth Education Center, CoxHealth North, K400, 4th Floor, Classroom #1.

Directions: Enter Cox North from the Robberson Ave. Northwest Entrance. Upon entering the building turn right and take the elevator to the 4th floor. You will arrive in the Education Center lobby.
